RELIGIOSITY VS SPIRITUALITY

RELIGIOSITY is an excessive devotion to a particular religion. To my understanding, RELIGIOSITY is belonging to a particular religion and practicing its belief. SPIRITUALITY involves the mind. How you connect with God in your own convenience or hardship. Spirituality is your involvement with God without the interference of a third-party. SPIRITUALITY is being in tune with your God your way. RELIGIOSITY just segregates us humans to choose ways on how we should serve God. - Dapo Adekunle Religion is rigid. When religion is flexible, it is spirituality- Fagbolagun Oluwatosin Religion has a pattern with which people follow. There are set rules on how to connect with your God. For example, in a church, there are different times set for different things such as prayer, sermon, praise and worship and the likes. Those are things of a religion. There shouldn't be a time stamp on when, where or how individuals should connect with their creator spiritually. In Hinduism, they worship idols and believe those idols are the ones who answer their prayers because it's been like that in the past, it's what the present generation met and it's what the next generation will meet. Imams and Pastors have led a lot of people astray because most people are religious and not spiritual. Most people believe in what their spiritual leader says to them rather than what God has in stock for them. People beg spiritual leaders/men of God to speak to God for them- this isn't wrong in any way, but have you tried talking to God yourself. Spiritual leaders are supposed to guide you through your connection with your creator not exploit you for seeking their helps. In my own opinion, religion is a corruption of the mind. How can an individual that seeks a spiritual leader's help get exploited and lied to for wanting to connect with God through you. What makes those type of spiritual leaders different from native doctors that request money, animals and sorts from people to help them. Therefore, there shouldn't be an intermediary between you and your creator. Speak to God yourself, connect with him, cry to him, praise him. Fagbolagun Tosin made an illustration as thus; Person 1- Calls you sometimes to check up on you and most times doesn't even bother checking up on you. Person 2- Calls you everytime to check up on you. You tell everything to that person cause you obviously prefer person 2 to person 1. She said Person 1 is the RELIGION while Person 2 is your SPIRITUALITY. Living in the consciousness of who we are.
