Be careful who you call “My friend”.
That person you call your friend just might be the stumbling block in your life.
Before choosing a friend, one should have a list of what you want in your friend. As a person, if you want a liar or pretentious person for a friend, you should go for that friend and if you want a trustworthy and truthful person for a friend, go for that friend.
People make mistakes of choosing friends based on the glitz and glamour forgetting that all that glitters isn’t gold.
Imagine being a friend with someone because his/her parent is rich, if later tables turn for them, and that person has no financial status again, would you still be friends with that person? In my own opinion, I think that sort of friend would move on and go in search of another friend that he/she can make money from their friendship.
Friendship is one of the best things in this world and it also is one of the worst things. In true friendship, you don’t boast, you don’t look forward to the downfall of your friend, you don’t speak ill words about your friend rather you love your friend regardless of whatever situation he/she is in.
As a person, I have made several friends, the good, the bad and the ugly. Friendship has taught me a lot. A lot of people have stayed envious of me for no just cause. Some of them have hated me for the person I am, some have backstabbed me and the list goes on and on but in this past year of my life. I made such friends that have become family, they’ve spoken well of me, they’ve loved me, they’ve have taught me so much and impacted positively in my life and I am forever grateful to them. We fight, we argue but through it all we remember the root of true friendship.
Take a moment today to appreciate whoever you call your true friend or appreciate whoever has stayed true to you whether your family, friend or your spouse.
